Cookies are small data files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture information that allows for a better user experience. Cookies can be stored whether you are a registered or non-registered user of our owned websites or services on partner websites. The cookies we place are generally used to personalize the user experience by remembering settings or language preferences, to improve our website speed or user experience by monitoring traffic generation and user behavior, to improve customer service and process requests.
When visiting Preview Networks sites: Cookies are collected upon visiting our owned and operated websites as the conversion tracking solutions or content management systems we use collects them. We use this information to analyze overall traffic and visits to our site, and are not able to track or collect personal information.
2. Non-registered users
Our owned sites include informational sites like Preview Networks and entertainment sites like Filmtrailer.com. Our operated sites include our blog and other social media channels.
We may use the conversion-tracking feature of Google AdWords to encourage viewers to our sites. To help track sales and other conversions from ads, it adds a cookie to a user's computer when the user clicks an ad. This cookie lasts 30 days and does not collect or track personally identifying information. Users can disable Google's Conversion Tracking cookie in their Internet browser's user preferences settings.
From time to time we update our website to optimize the viewer experience and may use software (e.g. Optimizely) that collects cookies when offering design variations for testing purposes. This software identifies the user by the cookie placed during the testing phase. Users can remove this cookie by clearing cache or browser history after visiting our site.
When processing anonymous usage data for reporting purposes to our clients or partners, or to deliver our services in general, the user IP is always obscured and not personally identifiable.
3. Registered users
We use browser cookies for our CMS users so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. However, one-way encryption is always used when logging in to our services, which does not allow decryption of personal information.
Third-party sites are used for various advertising and support purposes for our core business. Whenever these integrations are incorporated into our services, users are asked to login, opt-in, allow or review the terms of service prior to accepting.
These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
4. Managing Cookies
If you wish to refuse the storing of cookies then follow the instructions below. There is always the option to manage or delete cookies, dependent on the browser that is used.
When using Google Chrome Version 24.0.1312.56 for example, select Chrome, Preferences, and Settings. Click "Show advanced settings..." to see the Privacy options. Select Content Settings and then choose your preferred cookie settings.
